We'll miss you, Cassie

On June 11, 2002, I brought home two little kittens, a brother and a sister.  June 10, 2009, was the last time we saw Cassie.  She's been gone for 18 days.  Maddie is just devastated.  We're assuming a wild animal got her--she'd have found her way home if it was at all possible.

Cassie was a great mouser--even being declawed, she left "gifts" for us all of the time.

We soon learned not to leave the car window open--Cassie would immediately stake out the front seat.

You haven't lived until you've shaved a cat!  She would get so matted--we had to get rid of that extra fur!  She was always so good about laying across my lap and letting us get the job done.  She would lick an apple or pear core (or the kids' hands) to keep herself calm.

This is where you could find her most of the time--hanging out on the bike path.  She had tons of walkers, bikers, and families that would stop and say hello to her--she was so friendly!--

Here's the other place that you would find her--asleep under the bushes outside of the kitchen window.  She loved to soak up the sun!

Any open seat was fair game to Cassie!

Here's Maddie with her kitty.  Poor girl.  She's marking off days on her calendar, just hoping that Cassie will come home.  :( :(
