Update on Steve's new job

We made it!  We survived the month of August--Steve's last month at Roto Rooter.  He went in last Friday to settle up with the office, and I have a couple of huge praises!

First, after all was said and done, Steve was going to owe them almost $700 (for used vacation time, etc), but he had a tool on his truck that the boss wanted, so they basically did a trade.  So we got a paycheck this week AND we'll get his last check next week (it will be small, but it will be something!).

Steve found some scrap metal when he was cleaning out his truck, and he was able to cash that in--super helpful.  These last few weeks have been really tight money-wise.

Then, one of the plumbers that Steve works with bought his truck.  Cash. On Saturday afternoon.  The Roto Rooter truck is GONE.  Steve just has to turn in the plates.  I'm so stoked about this!

Steve started orientation on Monday.  There's definitely a learning curve, and a lot of information to process, but it's all going to be good.  We went out last night and got him new workboots and a cooler for his lunch.

Next week he starts 2nd shift.  He'll actually be in training for 2 weeks before he's actually working.  If you think of it, please pray for us as we adjust to this new schedule.

All in all--huge sigh of relief!
