Trip to GA, part 1

A couple of weeks ago, my dad, myself, and my three kids drove down to Georgia to visit my friends, Susanna and Jim.  We made incredible time, getting to Stone Mountain (east of Atlanta) in just 17 hours.

After a good night's sleep, we spent the first day relaxing around the house.

Here's Miss Emma.  She's almost 2.  She's convinced that she's the boss of the family. ;)

Here is Micah--age 8.  This picture cracks me up, because the week before we came, Micah fell and gave himself a black eye.  He didn't want the black eye to show in the photo. ;)

After a quick run to the grocery store, we grilled out.  Emma wasn't so happy at one point.  

"Oh, wait, are you taking my picture?"

Susanna's sister, Sarah (I can't say 'sister Sarah' without thinking of the Clint Eastwood movie, Two Mules for Sister Sarah), and her husband, Jon.  It was so nice to see them again.  Can't wait to hear the good news when their baby girl makes her arrival later this summer!

Miss Patience with Emma.  We brushed Emma's hair and put it into the skinniest braid you've ever seen.  So cute!

The next day, we woke up to rain, so climbing Stone Mountain was out of the question.  We decided to take a trip to a local mall.

I didn't get a picture of James' face for at least 2 days.  :)  He took a bit to warm up to us.  He did love the fish at Bass Pro Shops, though.

Fulfilling a dream--Blizzards at Dairy Queen (we don't have one locally here in RI--we also hit a Chik-Fil-A on the drive down).  

Once upon a time, my family (my mom, dad, sis, and me) went to Medieval Times in Florida.  What a riot to see one here in GA.  I didn't realize there was more than one location!

We got to see the new Lord of the Rings Legos at the Lego Store, then swung through a book store.  Then it was back to the house for dinner and a relaxing evening!
