Blizzard of 2013

So, we had a blizzard last weekend. Over 187,000 RI customers lost power--thank GOD we weren't one of them. The cable actually went out for about 3 minutes, and I had a panic attack. :) All was well, though, and other than some seriously sore muscles from shoveling, we came though the storm of the year just fine.

Here's our deck a few hours after it started snowing:

By the time the sun had gone down, the front of the house was just coated in ice and snow.  It was crazy windy.

Here's the back yard, later that night.

And this is what we woke up to--this is the view from our upstairs hall window:

While Patience opted to do indoor housework instead of shoveling (sigh), she did deign to come out for a photo.

Bike path? What bike path?

The back yard--the bushes were bending over, the snow was so heavy.

No mail delivery!  Good thing--I think the mailbox was frozen shut.

There's nothing quite like a sunset over pristine, white snow.  The day after the storm was sunny with gorgeous blue skies.

  1. Amazing! Wish we could get a blizzard like that down here in the good ol' south!
