Random thoughts

It's Saturday evening, and we're watching the NFL playoffs.  I confess, despite living in New England, to being a huge Peyton Manning fan--such a heart-breaker, watching them lose in overtime to the Ravens.  BUT, now the Patriots have home field advantage in the AFC championship game IF they win tomorrow over Houston.

I never mentioned that fact that my sister and her family had to leave earlier than expected for home, because my nephew, Luke (age 7 10/12), broke his arm, when they went sledding.  They hadn't even gone down the hill once. He slipped, and pop--broken arm.  They brought him to the urgent care near my house, where his arm was set & wrapped, but he really needed to be seen by a specialist, so they hopped in the car and drove all night to Toronto.  Poor kid.  We did have a nice time getting to see them--maybe we can make a trip to Toronto this summer.

My hand is healing on the outside, but man, is it still sore...  I go back to the orthopedist on Thursday.  Not sure if I'll need physical therapy or not.

In other health news, (TMI alert) after two months of Aunt Flo staying away, she's back.  I thought my body had finally figured out WHY I had the NovaSure procedure, and was deciding to behave accordingly.  No such luck.  Everything is much lighter, but it's just not going away.  Today is day 11.  It's just a pain in the backside.

Oh! Here's some good news!  We finally found a new church almost 18 months after leaving Calvary Chapel.  It's been a long road.  We started attending Faith Baptist Church two months ago. Tomorrow, Steve and I will be attending the membership class they offer.  We're really not ready to take the plunge with membership, but we're viewing it as a fact-finding mission.  So far, so good. We actually know six (give or take a couple) families in the church already--I didn't know that when we visited back in November.  There's a few homeschooling families that we know of.  The kids will be attending Sunday School for the first time tomorrow--I'm praying that they meet some nice kids.

So aggravated with SuperBookDeals/Amazon Marketplace.  On 11/28, I ordered a (very cool) 2013 Sherlock calendar.  It never arrived.  When I emailed them, they said they were sending out a replacement.  THAT never arrived.  I finally asked for a refund.  What I want is a really cool Sherlock calendar!!! Gah.  So we're using the lame one that our town sends us. Blah.

I have a splitting headache tonight.  It feels much later than it is (9:17)--I think I'll go kick Eli off of the couch so that I can lay down while I watch the 49ers/Packers game.
