Mmmm, Hamburger Vegetable Soup is simmering on the stove, kids are playing upstairs, hubby is hopefully on his way home.
The last month has been so busy! Busy for ME. Busy with Pampered Chef. Which is good, a blessing. But boy, is it hard to juggle life & homeschooling with work.
This is the time of year when I like to start cooking more (at home, not for work! LOL). At a library book sale I was able to get almost 50 issues of Taste of Home, Quick Cooking and Taste of Home's Simple & Delicious cooking magazines for $2!!
I spent about a week going through them, clipping recipes to try (I actually own about 100 copies of these magazines, so I didn't want to keep the ones from the sale). I have blank journals that I tape recipes into (easier than copying them in long hand--I only do that once I've tried them). I went through the journals, ripping out recipes that I either haven't tried yet (and its been years since I clipped them), or didn't like.
We've had a lot of new things to try. Tonight is the Hamburger Vegetable Soup. Tomorrow I'm going to make Blueberry Corn Muffins, and maybe a chicken crockpot recipe (had BBQ sauce, pineapple, garlic....YUM).
I also work from home. I have been a Virtual Customer Service Rep for almost 3 years now. You're definitely right when you say it's hard work but I enjoy it. I'm able to do my own schedule so housework, errands and such can get done around school and work.
