Yesterday was the big trip to Plymouth, MA! The kids had never been, so they were excited. We read a few Thanksgiving books leading up to the trip, and Maddie's been learning about the Pilgrims in her Social Studies.
We were so excited that Steve was able to come with us. That doesn't happen often!
Plymouth is about 75 miles from us--took just over an hour to get there. The kids got some school work done in the car on the way.
Here the kids are, in front of the "Moo"Flower, in the Visitor's Center.

First we headed to the recreation of a Wampanoag village. There was a summer house, a winter house, an outdoor kitchen, a garden...all with Native Americans dressed in authentic costumes. Very cool, and the kids' favorite part of the trip.

Then we headed to the Pilgrim's village. It really is a living history museum--housewives were cooking (ugh, pig's intestines!), work was being done, animals roamed around. Very cool!

After a childhood of hauling and stacking wood, I am beyond impressed with this woodpile!

Steve, humoring me with yet another picture, but without a smile.
