RI History Field Trips

Thank God for other homeschoolers who plan field trips!  Two weeks ago, we got to visit Smith's Castle--a home owned by Richard Smith, who owned a trading post in the 1600's.  During King Philip's War, the property was taken over by Massachusetts & Connecticut troops as headquarters while they fought the Native Americans.

Eli too these pictures of me & Steve:

After we left Smith's Castle, we stopped for a picnic lunch before heading to the Gilbert Stuart Museum.  You know the picture of George Washington that is on a one dollar bill?  Well, Gilbert Stuart painted that, and he was born in RI.
