I blogged yesterday about Eli's doctor recommending one tablet of Melatonin before bedtime to help with Eli's recent sleep issues.
Ahhh, magic pills! At least my children are basically convinced that that is what these are. Ignore the fact that they come from the vitamin section and are all-natural. The girls are now begging for them as well (they have NO problems sleeping--SIGH).
Anyway, its only been one night, so I've no idea if this is working or not. BUT, apparently Eli is convinced.
A woman (one of my customers) came over to pick up her order this afternoon, and Eli wanted to tell her a story about when the cats wake up and he feeds them. These are the words that came out of his mouth (because of course, the story has to start with the night before--so that he can "wake up" in the story),
"My mom and dad give me a pill to make me sleep."
Aughh! What did you just say to this basically complete stranger????
I was like, "No, no, honey, that's a natural supplement that your DOCTOR recommended! Ha, ha, kids are so funny...heh heh." *uncomfortable pause*

SIGH--the boy keeps me honest at least. He's never met a stranger, and will tell people all sorts of things (why in the world would it occur to him that they might not be interested?).

ReplyDeleteMy dh calls him Forrest (Forrest Gump)sometimes because Jonah once told us when he was 4 that after he introduced himself to people, they weren't strangers anymore. LOL Holly
