AS I wrote yesterday, we didn't get the West Warwick apartment. Okay, onward and upward!
We went to go look at an apartment, also in West Warwick, last night, but the landlady never showed. I left her a message, and haven't heard back from her. Do I call her back? Do I want to rent from someone who doesn't return calls? Hmmmmmm.....
Today we are going to get 3-6 inches of snow. Perfect, just in time for our next two appointments! 4pm is a 3BR Cranston apartment, 5:30 is a 2BR 2nd floor apartment in Warwick (very close to many of our church/homeschooling friends).
Steve is working down at my parents' new house today (he is installing all of the plumbing). He took a vacation day to go do this because he will be in Maryland next week for Roto Rooter. He's going to come home to look at the apartments, then head back down to the house (about 35 minutes south). He's also planning on going down there tomorrow before his shift starts. We'll see him in about a month, I guess!
Tomorrow is Madeline's 8th birthday. Wow, where does the time go? She wants to go out to breakfast, so I guess it will be an early one, what with Steve wanting to get an early start down to my parents' house. Other than that, I don't know what we'll be doing. There will be snow on the ground, so I don't know how much driving I want to do.
Maddie was supposed to go to a Girl Scouts' sleepover tomorrow night, but the leader's husband has been in the hospital. Pray for Jay, that complete healing takes place. They have 3 lovely daughters.
I woke this morning and checked the message boards that I frequent, only to learn that another homeschool mom died yesterday after having a c-section. Her baby is doing fine, a little girl. She has 4 other children. I can't begin to imagine the grief this family is feeling.
Hearing news like this certainly puts life into perspective. How in the world can I complain and worry about tomorrow when today my family is healthy, we have a roof over our heads, food on our table and clothes on our backs? God sees every need, and He is so failthful to provide.
I'll send up prayers for you and for the others you mentioned. I hope that you find something soon, and something that fits your family well.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hello...thanks for leaving a comment on my blog (Joyful Journey in Taunton, MA :) Did you get a lot of snow in RI? Figures after this mild winter we'll probably get blizzards for the next 2 months!
ReplyDeleteI hope your apartment search is over soon. I understand what you are going through. We have a 2 bedroom apartment and three kids, so things are getting pretty crowded!
It is so true what you wrote about how lucky most of us are, yet we get so caught up in everything we don't have, we forget to concentrate on the everyday "miracles" of home, health, and family.
God Bless and take care!
