Well, we knew it was a possibility. When we adopted two more guinea pigs in October, the lady told us that they might be pregnant. Here we are, almost 2 months later, and it is very obvious that our little herd of piggies is about to grow exponentially. Here are some pics of our gravid guineas:
Here's Cocoa, in an aerial shot, so that you can see how wide her hips are now

Cocoa, facing me, and Pumpkin, refusing to cooperate

Cocoa on Eli's lap--I can't wait to see how many babies she has--she seems huge.

Pumpkin finally deigned to look at me

Cocoa trying to see what was going on in Princess' cage

They don't actually get along, so we were surprised when Cocoa jumped the "fence" to visit Princess. We separated them pretty quickly when they started acting aggressively toward each other. They can duke it out once Cocoa isn't pregnant anymore.LOL

We'll be sure to post pics as soon as their babies are born--it should be sometime this week!
Oh, if we lived closer K would be all over me to take one off your hands. LOL! Can't wait to see more. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat will you do with all those new pets? (no, this isn't an adoption request, hee, hee.) Congrats to you all!
