I'm sitting here, after a long week of being sick, Christmas shopping, grocery shopping....I'm so tired. And either because I'm sick or tired or both, or just nostalgic, I find myself being absolutely weepy, thinking about how big the kids are now, and how quickly they're growing up. It seemed like a good time to check out some old Christmas pictures. They're not in chronological order, but I hope you'll enjoy the trip down memory lane as much as I did!
1995--just 2 months after Abigail died. Not our most fun Christmas.

Christmas 2002
This is me...oh, 1975? About eighteen months old?
This is my dad's dad, Pepere Duclos, dressed as Santa.
Me & my sister--I look about 3 here, so I'll guess Christmas '76 or '77 (I'm actually going by how little my sister looks....).
A Cabbage Patch Christmas for me & Christine--I think it was 1984.
Matching pj's--2006
Love this picture of the kids baking together--I'm not even sure if they're Christmas cookies!

Christmas 2003
I'm really not sure when this picture was taken---some holiday that was cold enough to require sweaters in either 1992, 1993 or 1994. :)
Definitely Christmas 2003, when we were engaged.
Me & my sister on Santa's lap--1977 or 1978. Santa looks thrilled.
Oh, these glasses. Gah! Chrismas 1986 or 1987 (I can tell be cause I got my hair cut short the summer I was 12).

Christmas 2004, the girls holding their new American Girl dolls. Otherwise known as the year that Patience gave herself a black eye spinning around in her room (she got dizzy and fell into the corner of her bureau).

Taking Nana out for lunch--Christmas 2010.

It's the season. I always have a super hard time with Christmas because of my family - although I don't want my parents to be married anymore, per se (I'm used to them apart) I miss Christmas mornings. My mom and I have continued to spend those mornings just the two of us and I'll probably get a little weepy then, but considering how emotional I usually am around this time of year, I'm doing pretty well! Too busy, maybe. :)
ReplyDeleteROTFLOL! We had a great time walkin' down memory lane with ya, sis! Thanks so much for sharing these pics with us.
ReplyDeleteYeah, about those upside-down frames from "circa '87" -- eee-gats! :D
Ok, second attempt at comment- I was going to say, that I cannot believe you have been at your "new" place almost five years. THAT is crazy. I still remember you at betez with three small youngins, pre-to-die-for-kitchen tools.
ReplyDeleteI know, isn't it crazy??? We'll always have Bettez St., complete with brush and detangling spray. :)
